A Season of Sunshine and Smiles: Our Summer Round-Up

From musical afternoons to garden days, puzzle-solving, and even a surprise flamingo sighting, our tenants have been making the most of summer. Here’s a look at the highlights from across our houses.

Beamsley House, Eastbourne - Sometimes it’s the simplest pleasures that bring the most joy. A few times, tenants have enjoyed a quiet drink in the garden with the company of next door's cat, who makes himself right at home! We also have some green-fingered tenants, growing tomatoes, radishes and salad.

Lade House, Eastbourne - The new puzzle board has been a real hit at Lade House. Tenants have enjoyed gathering to piece together a picture, and we're sure it will get plenty of use through the Autumn too. It’s been a great way to keep minds active while enjoying each other’s company.

Abbeyfield House, Hove - Music filled the air this summer when a local choir came to perform for us, bringing smiles all round. Afterwards, tenants enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. A relaxed cheese and wine afternoon was another highlight, perfect for catching up with friends. Outside, our newly made-over front garden has been a popular spot to sit and soak up the sunshine. And we had a "just because" cocktail afternoon with Rasberry Mojitos... because why not?!

Abbeyfield House, Tunbridge Wells - The summer months here have been about making the most of our shared spaces, enjoying good company in the lounge and plenty of relaxed chats over tea. Our garden burst into life, and with such a dry summer, tenant Mark helped us to water the garden daily. The roses looked and smelled delightful, and this year we also decided to grow sweet peas in remembrance of a dear member of staff who worked here.

Holdenhurst, Heathfield - From the thriving salad garden to homemade bakes, Holdenhurst has been full of flavour this summer. Sharon, our talented Kitchen Manager, has been busy making Victoria sponge, brownies, lemon drizzle, lemon posset, and biscuits for Afternoon Tea. Plus, there was plenty of laughter when tenant Dave appeared dressed head-to-toe as a flamingo, a moment that still makes us smile!

Beachside, Worthing - It wouldn’t be summer without a summer celebration, and Beachside delivered with a seaside-themed summer party and BBQ. From the coastal decorations to the tasty food, the afternoon was much fun. On quieter days, tenants have enjoyed time in the garden, tending to plants and celebrating birthdays.
