Abbeyfield South Downs secures the future of two sheltered living houses in Worthing

Abbeyfield South Downs have recently assumed responsibility for two properties after merging with Abbeyfield Worthing Society. Effective 1st November, Abbeyfield South Downs will manage ‘Seascapes’ on Southey Road and ‘Beachside’ on Queens Road.
This move helps secure the future of the houses and ensures our commitment to Worthing. The houses offer sheltered housing for older people looking to enjoy an independent, fulfilling retirement.
Tenants can enjoy their preferred mix of independence and company, with home-cooked meals provided each day. The houses offer a peaceful, friendly atmosphere, with the aim to make life a little easier for tenants. Abbeyfield houses are designed to help tenants to remain independent, whilst offering security, support and companionship.
Nolan Taylor, Chief Executive of Abbeyfield South Downs, commented:
We are delighted to announce that Abbeyfield South Downs is welcoming the two Worthing properties into our South Downs family. We look forward to working with the team, the current tenants and the local community, to ensure the continued success of the houses. We are especially keen to build connections with local groups and endeavour to offer tenants active, independent living in a vibrant and like-minded community.

“Abbeyfield South Downs have a successful track record, already managing six other houses across the South Downs region. Most recently, in 2021 we successfully launched a new 48-apartment scheme Holdenhurst in Heathfield. In Worthing, we have already engaged with contractors regarding a programme of refurbishment works to develop the properties and demonstrate our commitment.”
Both houses are currently 9-room properties, all with ensuite facilities. Home-cooked meals are provided each day and both houses are within walking distance of the sea.
